Stretching the limits of AM

The core activity of LayerWise is producing functional parts in any preferred metal (alloy) material suitable for Additive Manufacturing (AM). LayerWise started printing prototype parts in the early days, but most of the parts it delivers today are serial produced.

Throughout the years, LayerWise stretched the limits of AM. Today, the company offers an increasing number of metal alloys to choose from depending on the application at hand.

The technical specifications LayerWise is able to achieve with AM are constantly evolving. The overall accuracy that can be reached with AM is gradually improving, translates into very thin walls, tiny features, and holes and channels with very small diameters.

Surface finishing and part post-processing

If needed, a range of surface finishing methods are optionally available to bring the surface quality of the AM part in line with the targeted application. Furthermore, any AM-produced part can be post-processed using conventional machining technologies, including drilling, milling and EDM.

LayerWise established itself as an AM technology  leader through research projects conducted with the University of Leuven as well as intense collaboration with its industrial, medical and dental customers. LayerWise both uses and develops the AM technology, and is therefore in a good position to deliver higher value in the years to come.
